This photograph was taken in the early evening using the following: P = 1/200, F=7.1, 26 mm, exposure compensation = -1.7. I took a number of shots trying to get the background to be darker with an emphasis on the green of the leaves with a highlight being the reflection in the water drop.
I like this photo. The simplicity makes it a strong image. The water drop adds contrast, and it is off-center. The black background makes for a dramatic composition. (Mark Hodgkins)
